European Day of Languages

Pancakes and pizza for break. Yummy! Thank you Agnes for cooking up a delicious morning of food.

The day the rabbits came to visit our school

In maths we have been ordering by height.

We enjoyed our walking trip to the Castle play park to investigate pushing and pulling.

STICKMAN @ GORTIN GLENS

We had a wonderful day at Gortin Glens Forest Park for the Stickman trail. Year 2 enjoyed listening to Lynn Greer who told us lots of information about Autumn and the different forest animals that we found along the way. We also had fun completing challenges and making our very own Stickman to take home. Thank you to Lynn from the Forest Service for a great day out.

Year 2 had a special visit from Samantha the dental nurse to teach us how to look after our teeth.

Catapult toy experiment

We investigated materials and their properties. We predicted and carried out a test to decide if paper or plastic was a better handle and if a big or small marshmallow was better ammunition.

 Christmas Dinner 2022

Bring a toy to school day

Each pupil took turns to talk about their toy. We discussed how each toy moved and worked, how long each child had the toy, where they got it and what materials they were made from.

Santa came to visit us on Monday 19th December…..in a post van!

We had fun on our last day with a Santa Run and Christmas party food and games. Merry Christmas to all the Year 2 boys and girls and your families!

Sentinus project -

Three Little Pigs

We had a special visit from Roy who gave us some challenges to make houses for the Three Little Pigs. It was lots of fun trying to build 3D models and then having a go at blowing them down.

It’s snow fun until you get to play in the snow

Verse Speaking 2023

Well done to all the boys and girls for being brave enough to stand up in front of Rois to say their poems today. You should be very proud! Congratulations to all the medal winners! It was a very tough decision for Rois as everyone scored 8.5 out of 10 and above for their performance. A very proud teacher!

1st - Elena and Robbie (cup winners)

2nd - Evie, Madison and Karter
3rd - Charlotte, Sienna and Farrah

We have been practising our drawing skills by studying features of different dinosaurs. We used oil pastels to colour. Check out our fantastic drawings below.

Bend and stretch with Annie

World Book Day 2023

Thank you to the Year 5 class who visited our class to share some stories with us. We had a wonderful day and everyone looked great.

Pirate Day…..arghhhhh

We designed and wrote our own instructions for a treasure hunt in school. Then we gave our instructions to each other to read and follow. It was exciting when we finished the hunt and found the treasure.

Year 2 enjoyed listening to and acting out the Captain Flinn story. We wrote a poem using adjectives.

We had fun tea staining and designing our own treasure maps.

The Easter bunny came to our school and hid some Easter eggs. We all found 1 each. Please come back next year!
